Reading located at the confluence of the River Thames and River Kennet, midway between London and Swindon off the M4 motorway. The town is also a retail centre serving a large area of the Thames Valley, and is home to the University of Reading Berkshire. Every year it hosts the Reading Festival, one of England's biggest music festivals. Sporting teams based in Reading city include Reading Football Club and the London Irish rugby union team, and over thousands runners annually compete in the Reading Half Marathon.The town contains exceptional museums and art galleries, particularly notable are the abbey ruins burial place of Henry I. Reading Goal made famous by Oscar Wilde's Ballad of Reading Goal. The Reading Museum and Art Gallery you can see a copy of the Bayeux Tapestry and then there is the Waterways Museum, this is sited at Blakes Lock close to the mouth of the Kennet and Avon Canal, best place for all the interest to all ages.
